  Served on the Sumter Electric Coop board of directors Democrat Katie and Will ran off and married because the bride's parents did not approve. Will and Katie met while his brother George and her cousin Florence Lucius were courting. After their marriage, both couples lived together for a time in a house where the Carl Perry dairy is now located in Pedro.
